Rash and Negligent Acts:
Section 336-338,Cap 224
-Rash Act: Acting or tending to act without due consideration
-Negligent Act: Guilty of characterised by neglect as of duty lazily careless
Punishments:
1) Section 336,Cap 224
Rash Act: Jail term up to a maximum of 6 months and/or fined up to $2005
Negligent Act: Jail term up to a maximum of 3 months and/or fine $1005
2) Section 337,Cap 224 (Leads to Minor Injuries)
Rash Act: Jail term of up to 12 months and/or fined up to $5000
Negligent Act: Jail term up to 6 months and/or fined up to $2500
3) Section 338,Cap 224 (Leads to Permanent Injuries)
Rash Act: Jail term of up to 4 years and/or fined up to $10000
Negligent Act: Jail term of up to 2 years and/or fined up to $5000
Mischief:
Section 425/426,427 and 428
Mischief: Whoever with intent to cause or knowing that he is likely to cause wrongful loss or damages to the public or any people,causes the destruction of any property or any such change in the property or in the situation,destroys or diminishes the value and utility.
Punishments:
1) Section 425/426
-Imprisonment for a term of at most 1 year
-And/or fined with amount decided by the judge
2) Section 427 (Causes lost or damages amounting to $500 and above)
-Imprisonment for a maximum term of 2 years
-And/or fined with amount decided by judge
3) Section 428 (Mischief caused by committing murder,poisoning and maiming of animals)
-Imprisonment of up to 5 years at most
-And/or fined with amount decided by judge
Vandalism:
-It is deliberately mischeivous or malicious destruction or damage of property vandalism of public buildings and infrastructure.
Punishments:
-Imprisonment for not more than 3 years
-Fine not exceeding $2000
-Subjected to caning not less than 3 strokes but not more than 8 strokes
Criminal Trespass and Willful Trespass:
-Criminal Trespass: Section 441
-Willful Trespass: Chapter 184
-Criminal Trespass: Whoever enters into property in the possession of another with the intent to commit an offence or to insult,intimidate or annoy any person in possession of such property.
- Wilful Trespass: Whoever enters into any property in the possession of another without the intention to do anything wrong but just for fun.
Punishments:
Criminal Trespass:
-Jail term of up to 3 years at max
-And/or fined up to $1500
Willful Trespass:
-Liable to fine not more than $1000
Property Offences: Theft or theft in dwelling
-Theft is committed by whoever intending to take dishonestly any movable property out of the possession of any person without that person's consent.
-Theft in dwelling is committed by whoever who commits theft in any building used as a human dwelling or for the custody of property.
Punishments:
1) Theft:
-Maximum of 3 years jail
-And/or fined amount decided by judge
2) Theft in dwelling( Section 380):
-Maximum of 7 years jail
-And/or fined amount decided by judge
Extortion:
Section 383
-Putting fear or injury to another person to deliver property or money worth(injuries like mind,body,reputation and property)
Punishment:
-Not less than 2 years in jail and not more than 7 years in jail
